Overview

This permanent role offers a two-year graduate programme designed to provide hands-on learning in accelerator modelling. Based in Bristol, United Kingdom, the position begins in September 2027 and places participants in a small team working alongside senior members and a dedicated buddy. Employees tackle challenges at the cutting edge of artificial intelligence technology, contributing to the development, testing, and refinement of simulations for next-generation AI accelerators.

What you get

Participants receive a permanent position that combines practical experience in C++ development, hardware simulation, and performance modelling. The package includes flexible working arrangements, up to 5 percent matched pension support for retirement planning, phantom equity, and workplace amenities such as free food and an on-site barista. Additional financial security and health protections comprise income protection, life assurance, an electric vehicle scheme via salary sacrifice, and a choice of flexible and optional benefits like private medical insurance, dental cover, a health cash plan, a cycle to work scheme, and a give-as-you-earn option.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a Bachelor degree, a Master degree, or possess equivalent experience in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related discipline. Candidates need strong C++ programming skills, a grasp of computer science fundamentals, and an interest in lower-level software. The role requires the ability to debug complex problems, explain reasoning clearly, and show exposure to debugging tools, performance analysis, testing, version control, or collaborative software development. Furthermore, applicants must already hold the legal right to work in the UK for the entire duration of the programme without needing visa sponsorship.

How to apply

Interested candidates must submit a CV, a cover letter, and answers to the application questions. The process includes a technical assessment for successful initial applicants, followed by in-person assessments in early spring for those reaching the final stage.

Key dates

The application deadline is midnight on 29th November 2026, though early applications are encouraged. Applicants will be notified of their application outcome by early December at the latest. The start date for the programme is September 2027.
