UX Design Summer Intern 2027
Overview
Graphcore offers a 12-week summer internship within its Core department based in Bristol, United Kingdom. Participants gain hands-on experience working on real projects and tackling challenging problems alongside experienced teams of designers and engineers. The programme is designed to help interns put their learning into practice, explore user-centred design principles applied to technical products, and build skills and confidence. Depending on performance and available roles, successful interns may have the opportunity to join a graduate programme after graduation.
Who can apply
Applicants must be currently studying towards a degree in UX, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related subject. Candidates are required to have basic experience using design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD, a strong interest in UX/UI design and user-centred design principles, and a portfolio provided as a PDF or link that features coursework or personal projects. Previous industry experience is not required, though exposure to technical products, user research, or Agile working is considered a useful strength. All applicants must already possess the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme without requiring visa sponsorship.
What you get
Interns receive a salary of £2500 per month during the 12-week programme. Benefits include flexible working options, 5 days of annual leave, and access to the online learning platform O’Reilly. On-site perks at the Bristol office include collaborative workspaces, free food, ice cream, and an on-site barista. Participants are supported by a manager, a dedicated buddy, and a team of designers and engineers who assist with skills development and career shaping.
Requirements
Candidates must submit application questions, a CV, and a cover letter. A portfolio featuring coursework or personal projects must be included as a PDF or link. Applicants must also be prepared to complete a technical assessment if their initial application is successful, and attend in-person assessments in early spring if they reach the final stage.
Key dates
The application deadline is midnight on 29th November 2026. Applicants are encouraged to apply early as applications may close ahead of the advertised date. The outcome of applications will be communicated by early December at the latest, with the internship scheduled to start in June 2027.
