Overview

TikTok is offering a regular employment opportunity for a Government Relationships and Public Policy Manager for Anglophone West Africa, with an initial focus on Nigeria and Ghana. The position is based in Abuja Municipal Area Council, Nigeria, and employment will be arranged through a third-party Employer of Record in Nigeria.

Who can apply

This opportunity is suitable for experienced professionals with at least five years of demonstrated experience in public policy, government relations, advocacy, or partnerships involving government and the private sector. Candidates need to understand West Africa’s public policy challenges, political systems, institutions, and cultural landscape, and established relationships with policymakers, multilateral agencies, academic institutions, and civil society stakeholders are important. A master’s degree or equivalent practical experience is preferred, with an educational background in law or technology-related public policy considered an advantage.

Requirements

The role requires candidates to build relationships with government institutions, non-governmental organisations, universities, think tanks, and other key stakeholders across West Africa and selected Sub-Saharan African markets. The position involves working with policymakers, private-sector partners, and civil society organisations on data protection, privacy, online safety, security, intellectual property, electronic governance, and content policy. Additional duties include developing advocacy initiatives, advising internal teams on public policy developments, shaping strategic plans, monitoring political and social events to address operational risks, and representing TikTok’s policy positions externally.
