Overview
The Global Centre for Pluralism is seeking a Senior Advisor for Sudan to provide strategic advice and technical support for a donor-funded peacebuilding initiative focused on promoting peace and strengthening civilian leadership in Sudan. The assignment runs for approximately 15 to 18 months, beginning in December 2026, subject to funding decisions, and requires up to 90 days of work throughout the engagement. The selected consultant will work alongside specialists in peace and conflict, pluralism, research, analysis, project management, and donor relations. Regular travel is required, accounting for approximately 25 to 40 percent of the contracted time to destinations that may include Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Europe, and Canada.

Requirements
Applicants must have at least 15 years of professional experience in peacebuilding, mediation, conflict mitigation, human rights, protection, security, or a related field. Candidates need in-depth knowledge of the Sudanese context including the ongoing conflict and its underlying drivers, established relationships with civilian actors and regional stakeholders connected to Sudan, and a proven ability to establish and maintain relationships in sensitive and complex environments. Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic are required, along with tact, diplomacy, sound judgement, and the willingness and ability to travel regularly. Experience working with civil society organizations, international organizations, and governments is necessary. Familiarity with pluralism principles and approaches serves as an advantage.
