Overview

The Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime is hiring an M&E and Communications Officer to support environmental crime programmes operating across Latin America, Africa and Asia. The position is situated within the ECOSOLVE department and involves contributing to international initiatives that address environmental crime and transnational organized crime. The successful candidate will help monitor programme results, strengthen reporting systems, and communicate the impact of work carried out alongside partners across multiple regions.

This is a one-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension or renewal. The role is fully remote on a global basis.

Requirements

Applicants are required to hold a relevant university degree alongside professional experience in programme support, research, monitoring and evaluation, or communications. Candidates should understand basic monitoring and evaluation concepts, including results frameworks, theories of change, indicators, and outcome harvesting, while possessing the ability to critically review information and organize data. Excellent written English is essential for producing accurate reports and communications materials, and applicants must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Several skills are considered desirable, including formal monitoring and evaluation training or prior experience working on donor-funded programmes supported by the European Union or Norad. Knowledge of environmental crime, organized crime, or natural resource governance is an advantage, as is experience developing communications content such as impact stories, briefing materials, and newsletters. A working knowledge of French, Spanish, or Portuguese is also valued given the international scope of the programmes.

What you get

The position offers a one-year fixed-term contract with the potential for extension or renewal, operating as a globally remote role within an independent civil society organization headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
