Financial Controller

Overview

Montu UK is seeking a Financial Controller to join the organisation on a 6 to 12 month fixed-term contract with the potential for a future permanent role. The position is based at the Winnersh office with hybrid work options requiring attendance at the office at least once per week. Candidates must be immediately available or have a notice period of no more than two weeks.

Responsibilities

The role involves leading the day-to-day Finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and managing and developing the finance team covering accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Responsibilities include overseeing month-end and year-end close processes, maintaining a robust financial control environment, managing treasury activities, and handling VAT, PAYE, and corporation tax compliance. The Financial Controller will also lead finance transformation initiatives such as automation and system optimisation, and partner with senior stakeholders and FP&A on reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.

Requirements

Applicants must be qualified accountants holding designations such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Financial Controller role. Required qualifications include strong technical accounting knowledge, experience with inventory processes, and familiarity with managing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow in a growing business. Candidates must also bring experience in implementing systems, partnering with senior stakeholders, and leading teams.

What you get

Compensation is provided at 75000 to 85000 GBP per year.
