Overview

Equality Now is seeking a Director, Major Gifts to lead and strengthen its major fundraising programmes. The successful candidate will help secure sustainable funding to advance gender equality, women’s rights, and legal change for women and girls worldwide by connecting the organisation's mission with individuals, family foundations, and philanthropic networks. This position is a full-time, locally remote opportunity in the United States.

Who can apply

This opportunity is suited to a senior fundraising professional with at least 10 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience and extensive expertise in major donor relationships, philanthropic partnerships, team leadership, and nonprofit development. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree, while a master’s degree, relevant continuing education, significant professional experience in fields such as international relations, nonprofit management, public policy, law, or human rights, or a Certified Fund Raising Executive qualification is highly desirable. Applicants must demonstrate substantial experience managing donor relationships independently, developing fundraising strategies, overseeing staff or programmes, and securing gifts ranging from five to seven figures from individuals and family foundations. Experience in a global nonprofit organisation, particularly within human rights, gender equality, or international development, is also desirable. Candidates need strong project management, communication, and organisational skills, familiarity with donor databases such as Raiser’s Edge NXT, inclusive leadership abilities, and a willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

What you get

The position offers an annual salary of 120000 to 140000 USD per year.
