Director of Growth (Development, Marketing & Communications) – Fully Remote Opportunity Paying Up to $185,000
Overview
Giving Green Research Group, a climate philanthropy research organization, is seeking a Director of Growth to lead its fundraising, marketing and communications. Giving Green identifies effective climate giving opportunities and helps individuals, businesses and foundations direct funding toward them. It reports that since 2019 it has helped move more than $63.5 million toward effective climate initiatives, including nearly $40 million through the Giving Green Fund since 2022.
The post is fully remote and open to people who can legally work in the country where they live, although U.S.-based candidates are preferred. The Director works with the Executive Director, manages a small team and sets growth goals, KPIs and reporting. Duties include building fundraising strategies for individual donors, foundations and corporate partners, cultivating major donors and institutional funders from first outreach to renewal, managing a prospect pipeline, overseeing proposals, impact updates and pitch decks, representing the organization at events, and directing communications across owned, earned and paid media, including the newsletter, website, social media and digital marketing. The director also helps turn technical climate research into accessible content.
Requirements
Giving Green wants at least seven years of experience in business development, nonprofit fundraising, development, marketing, communications or a mix, with a strong record of securing major gifts, partnerships, foundation or corporate support. People-management experience and clear communication of technical topics are needed. Climate sector knowledge, media relations, digital marketing oversight, CRM experience and experience scaling a fundraising function are desirable.
What you get
Candidates can work four or five days per week, with pay and some benefits adjusted. For full-time U.S. employees the salary benchmark is USD $135,000 to $185,000 per year, depending on experience and location. Benefits include health, dental and vision coverage, a 4% unconditional 401(k) contribution, more than 20 days of paid time off plus public holidays, and professional development and productivity stipends.
