Data Scientist

Overview

Infinitesima is hiring a Data Scientist to join the Technology department based in Abingdon, United Kingdom. The role focuses on proving analysis methods for advanced semiconductor metrology systems by generating and curating data, developing and testing algorithms, and benchmarking performance. Working within an AI-first team environment, the successful candidate will bridge the gap between R&D proof-of-concept data and product software development.

Who can apply

Applicants must hold a degree or higher in Physics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a similar subject, or alternatively possess two years of relevant experience in data science or quantitative research. Candidates are expected to have experience with data analysis in Python, heavy day-to-day use of AI tools, image or signal processing on scientific instrument data, applied measurement statistics, machine learning validation, and writing clear, reproducible code.

What you get

The position offers a salary between 42,000 and 55,000 GBP per year, determined by experience. Additional benefits include an annual bonus, a death in service benefit equal to three times the salary, private health care via BUPA, and an EMI share scheme. Visa sponsorship may be available for suitable candidates.

Requirements

The role requires working under a hybrid model where most employees work onsite three days per week. The recruitment process includes a first stage 45-minute remote meeting followed by a 2.5-hour face-to-face onsite evaluation covering technical, presentation, and communication skills.
