Overview
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is hiring an Information Management Officer for its consortium team in Abuja, Nigeria. The post is a full-time national contract with an initial term of 6 months, renewable subject to funding, at Salary Grade Band H, Level 1. It supports data management, beneficiary information systems, reporting and information quality across humanitarian programmes in Northeast and Northwest Nigeria. DRC, founded in 1956, is Denmark's largest international humanitarian NGO and works in nearly 30 countries; it has operated in Nigeria since 2016 with offices in Abuja, Maiduguri and Sokoto.
What the role involves
The officer reports to the Chief of Party, with technical supervision from the Information Management Specialist. Duties include maintaining ActivityInfo beneficiary databases and forms, supporting registration, synchronization, consolidation and verification, running data quality checks, deduplicating beneficiary records, matching registration and distribution records for cash assistance, preparing lists, dashboards and monitoring reports for donors, and providing technical support and training on tools such as ActivityInfo, Kobo, ODK, SurveyCTO and CommCare. The officer also keeps secure documentation, data dictionaries and standard operating procedures in line with DRC data protection standards.
Who can apply
The post is open to candidates eligible to work under local Nigerian employment terms. Applicants need a degree in computer science, information management, information technology or a related field, with a master's degree an advantage, and at least three years of experience in information management or database design or administration in NGO, UN or development programmes. Experience with ActivityInfo, Excel, SQL, Power BI, R or Access, knowledge of database management, digital data collection platforms and full professional English are expected. GIS mapping and writing information management procedures are advantages.
