Overview

Catholic Relief Services is offering remote professional opportunities for individuals interested in humanitarian work, staff well-being, and financial management. The organisation works with communities and partners to address poverty, emergencies, and development challenges, supporting people affected by crises while promoting accountability and sustainable results. The current vacancies consist of a Senior Advisor focusing on staff well-being and workforce resilience, and a Senior Finance Officer supporting the RAPID emergency response initiative. Both roles are home-based and allow professionals to contribute to humanitarian operations through specialised expertise.

Who can apply

The Senior Advisor position requires candidates to hold a master’s degree, PhD, PsyD, or EdD in psychology, clinical social work, counselling, or a related field, alongside at least eight years of experience in clinical mental health practice, counselling, or social work, including a minimum of two years in management or regional or global advisory work. Applicants must also have experience in humanitarian aid, international development, evidence-based treatment protocols, mental health training, and trauma-informed critical incident response, plus fluency in English. Knowledge of French, Spanish, or Arabic is an advantage, and an active professional licence and overseas work experience are desirable.

The Senior Finance Officer position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration with accounting coursework, or a recognised professional accounting qualification such as CPA or ACCA, along with at least two years of experience in a similar role. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical skills, accuracy, attention to detail, ethical conduct, the ability to work collaboratively, and fluency in English. Experience in an NGO, financial institution, or banking environment, as well as familiarity with financial reporting software and public donor regulations, is desirable. The roles are open only in locations where Catholic Relief Services is registered to employ staff, and visa sponsorship is not provided for remote employees.

What you get

The Senior Finance Officer RAPID role provides an annual pay range of US$64,647 to US$77,268, which applies to US-based staff and certain international assignees, while pay for employees hired on local payroll may differ according to their country of employment.

Requirements

Both positions are remote and home-based, requiring candidates to be comfortable working remotely with international teams. The Senior Advisor role involves approximately 15 percent travel, while the Senior Finance Officer role involves up to 25 percent travel.

How to apply

Interested candidates must read the full vacancy announcements and submit their applications through the application process specified in each listing, ensuring they review the eligibility criteria, work location conditions, travel requirements, and compensation details before applying.
