Calling Gender Equity Experts! Habitat for Humanity International Seeks Remote GECC Consultants to Drive Global Learning – Apply by 6 August 2026
Overview
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking consultants for its Gender Equity Curiosity Collective (GECC). The collective is a global initiative to change how gender equity is handled in HFHI programmes, recognising that gender norms shape people's opportunities, access to resources, housing security and decision-making, and that women and gender-diverse people often face extra barriers to property ownership, housing finance, safe housing and community participation. The consultancy is remote and part-time, open to international consultants and teams, and may be best delivered by a team spread across regions because of language and time zone needs.
The consultant or team provides about 60 working days of support through June 2027. Tasks include supporting participating teams as they apply gender equity approaches, advising on tools, methods and reflective practice, giving feedback through check-ins, facilitating collective learning sessions and online exchanges, supporting accessible record keeping, producing an annual global report on GECC progress, updating gender equity tools and running global training sessions. Deliverables include capacity assessments, gender analysis reports, Gender Marker submissions, programme proposals and reports, research and learning documents and updated tools.
Requirements
Applicants need at least five years of international development experience, proven expertise integrating gender equity and social inclusion into programmes, experience facilitating action learning and reflective practice, strong knowledge management, excellent communication, fluency in Spanish and English and experience with complex global organisations and distributed teams. They must be able to work flexible hours across time zones. Experience with gender equity in housing is preferred.
How to apply
Proposals go to the Program Director for Housing Opportunities and Mission Engagement and should include relevant expertise, technical approach and methodology, a work plan with milestones, examples of similar assignments, a proposed budget, a risk assessment, a commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection, and consultant CVs.
