Become a UNFPA Internal Communications Consultant| Fully Remote/Home-Based Opportunity for Recent Master’s Graduates
Overview
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is seeking an Internal Communications Consultant for its Media and Communications Branch, within the Division of External Relations. The consultancy is home-based and remote, with an initial duration of six months and a possibility of extension. The consultant works under the direct supervision of the Stakeholder Engagement Specialist and supports internal communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives linked to UNFPA's global communications strategy.
What you get
The assignment covers writing, editing and publishing text and multimedia content for internal channels such as the myUNFPA platform, the Voices newsmagazine, newsletters and communications hubs. The consultant also helps organise the General Staff Meeting, monitors and presents analytics from the intranet and newsletters, helps run webinars and training sessions, develops resource materials, conducts research and assists with in-person events and exhibitions.
Who can apply
Applicants must have recently graduated with a Master's degree or higher and must also hold an undergraduate degree. One year of relevant experience in communications, marketing or public relations is described as a plus rather than a strict requirement, and volunteer work with development agencies can also count.
Requirements
UNFPA looks for excellent writing and editing skills, strong organisation and research ability, knowledge of web production, familiarity with social media and multimedia tools, interpersonal skills, project management, analytical thinking, initiative and the ability to work across cultures. Fluency in English is required and other languages are an asset. Consultants must hold medical insurance for the whole consultancy, since UNFPA does not provide it, and must submit proof of cover before starting.
How to apply
Candidates should prepare a resume and a cover letter showing their qualifications and communications experience. UNFPA encourages applications from women and welcomes candidates from underrepresented groups, including persons with disabilities and minority and Indigenous communities.
