Overview

The Amyloidosis Research Consortium (ARC) is a nonprofit working to accelerate research, improve patient outcomes and strengthen collaboration among researchers, healthcare professionals, industry partners and the amyloidosis community. It is hiring a Director of Communications and Marketing for a fully remote, full-time leadership role with working hours aligned to Eastern Time in the United States. The Director leads ARC's communications function and works closely with the Chief Executive Officer and leadership, combining strategic planning with hands-on execution.

The Director develops and carries out an annual communications and marketing plan tied to ARC's mission and priorities. Responsibilities include creating integrated strategies across platforms, storytelling that reflects patient, caregiver and healthcare experiences, donor communications and awareness campaigns that support fundraising, managing website content and performance, leading social media strategy, producing newsletters, reports, blogs and educational resources, supporting events and campaigns, tracking performance through analytics, and working with external contractors and vendors on major digital projects such as a website redesign.

Requirements

ARC wants an experienced communications leader with at least seven years of progressive experience in communications, marketing or related work, a background in nonprofit communications, marketing or external relations, and experience with fundraising and donor communications. Strong writing and editing, management of multi-channel campaigns across email, web, social media and print, the ability to turn complex scientific or medical information into accessible content, project management skills and experience using communication analytics are required. Experience in healthcare, rare disease organizations, patient advocacy or scientific nonprofits is valued, as is knowledge of CRM systems, email platforms, social media tools and digital design platforms.

What you get

The salary range is USD $120,000 to $135,000 per year. Benefits include four weeks of paid vacation, paid sick leave and holidays, medical, dental and vision insurance support, employer-paid life and disability insurance, a retirement plan with employer contribution and employee assistance and wellbeing support.

How to apply

Candidates submit a resume and cover letter through the ARC careers page. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
