Overview
The Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa (SIHA) Network is a regional network that works to advance women's rights and improve women's lives across the Horn of Africa. It addresses justice, protection and equality, working with partners and communities and supporting efforts to tackle structural barriers facing women. It currently advertises full-time, hybrid, virtual, in-person and consultancy opportunities in Uganda, Sudan, South Sudan, Somaliland, Ethiopia and at regional level.
Who can apply
Vacancies cover grants management, communications, knowledge management, project coordination, human resources, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), access to justice and gender-based violence. Staff positions include Regional Grants Manager, Regional Communications Officer and Regional Editorial and Knowledge Management Officer, each offered virtually or in person with travel. SIHA also seeks a MOJA-VAW Project Coordinator based at the regional office on a hybrid basis with travel across SIHA countries, and a full-time Human Resource Manager at the regional office.
Other roles are a Project and Grants Officer for MOJA, in person in Khartoum, Juba, Hargeisa and Addis Ababa, and a Regional Project Associate for MOJA in Kampala, Uganda.
Three consultancies are also listed. One covers SRHR awareness materials for communities in Darfur, Greater Khartoum and Eastern Gezira. Another is a West Nile regional influencing strategy on access to justice in Arua and Yumbe, Uganda. The third is the review, mapping and design of formal and informal sexual and gender-based violence referral pathways for Arua City and Arua District.
