Overview
Acted is looking for a Business Development Manager to support its humanitarian, development, climate and environmental programming. The post is an international staff position on a fixed-term contract, and the duty location varies with the assignment. Candidates must be eligible for an international contract under the organization's recruitment framework.

What you get
Pay depends on education level and security context, and there is a monthly living allowance of 300 dollars. Benefits include accommodation and food in an Acted guesthouse, pension, health insurance, life insurance and repatriation assistance. EU citizens may be eligible for unemployment insurance. Acted covers visa fees and contributes to luggage transport of up to 100 kg, depending on contract length. Depending on context, staff may get Rest and Recuperation every two or three months, with flights up to 500 dollars and an allowance of 200 dollars. Annual leave is 25 to 43 days per year. Pre-departure and security training, tax advice and psychological assistance are also provided.
Requirements
Candidates need solid experience in grants management, fundraising and partnerships, including leading and preparing proposals for institutional donors, plus experience managing staff. An entrepreneurial mindset and interest in climate and environmental issues are expected. Experience in the relevant country response is an advantage. Applicants should be proficient in written and spoken English, well organized, able to juggle deadlines and good at explaining complex information clearly.
The manager supports the Country Director in understanding the country context, donor strategies and funding trends, maintains mapping of donors, partners, climate finance institutions and private-sector stakeholders, and leads Expressions of Interest, concept notes and full proposals. The role covers bilateral donors, UN agencies, pooled funds and multilateral institutions, and climate finance such as the Green Climate Fund and the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage. It also includes reporting oversight, partner grant management, contract review and leading the business development team.
