UNIDO Data and Information Management and AI Internship 2027: Vienna Opportunity With Monthly Stipend
Overview
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is offering a six-month Data and Information Management and AI Internship in Vienna, Austria, within its Division of Agribusiness and Infrastructure Development. It is scheduled to begin on 2 January 2027. The division helps Member States modernize agriculture and agro-industry and advance value addition, food security, climate initiatives and sustainable rural development, while UNIDO's wider priorities include supply chains, clean energy, digitalization and artificial intelligence.
The intern works under an officer designated by the Director. Duties include collecting, organizing and standardizing technical cooperation project information, maintaining structured project records and knowledge repositories, and preparing project summaries, briefing notes and lessons-learned documents. The intern supports knowledge products using approved digital and AI-enabled tools under supervision, collects, validates, visualizes and summarizes project data, develops prototype tracking tools, dashboards and reporting templates, prepares presentations, success stories and case studies, and supports webinars and knowledge-sharing events.
Who can apply
Applicants can be enrolled in a master's or higher programme, have completed one within the past year, be in the final year of a bachelor's degree, or have completed a first degree within the past year, at an accredited institution. Relevant fields include data science, data engineering, statistics and closely related areas.
Requirements
Experience with artificial intelligence is required. Fluent written and spoken English is needed, and Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish is an asset. Basic research skills and familiarity with data tools such as Excel are also required.
