UNDP Partnership Support Internship 2026 in Belgium – Estimated Stipend: $1,000–$1,500/Month
Overview
UNDP is offering a six-month Partnership Support Internship in Brussels, Belgium, linked to its Regional Bureau for Africa. The internship supports UNDP's engagement with the European Union, Belgium and Luxembourg and contributes to development initiatives across Africa. It gives practical exposure to partnership development, resource mobilization, programme support and coordination. The UNDP Representation Office in Brussels promotes awareness of UNDP's mandate and results and builds strategic relationships with European partners.
What you do
Interns work under designated staff in the Brussels office and the Partnership Advisor in the Regional Bureau for Africa. Tasks include following up on the EU-funded partnership pipeline by maintaining trackers, consolidating updates from country offices and regional teams, spotting missing information and deadlines, and preparing status overviews. They also support project verification and audit exercises with trackers, deadline flags, background notes and response packages.
Mission support covers scheduling, meeting kits, briefing packs, agendas, note-taking and follow-up documentation for Regional Bureau missions and visits to Brussels. Knowledge management work includes preparing briefing materials and slides in line with UNDP branding and monitoring institutional websites for Africa-related developments.
Who can apply
Applicants must be in the final year of a first university degree, enrolled in a postgraduate programme such as a Master's or higher, recent graduates able to start within one year of graduation, or in a postgraduate professional traineeship that includes an internship. Relevant fields include International Relations, Development Studies and Economics. Non-EU citizens may need a valid Belgian residency card covering the internship period.
