Overview

UN Women is offering a six-month, full-time Public Partnerships Internship at its Nordic Liaison Office at UN City in Copenhagen, Denmark. It runs from 1 February to 31 July 2027 and is reserved for Nordic speakers. The Nordic office works on strategic partnerships, resource mobilization, advocacy and communication across the Nordic and Baltic regions, with partners including governments, parliamentarians, media, civil society, the private sector and other United Nations agencies.

The intern conducts national political research on issues linked to UN Women's mandate, monitors government policies and developments in Nordic and Baltic countries, and prepares short updates. Other tasks include media monitoring of coverage on gender equality, helping prepare high-level consultations, meetings and events with Nordic public partners, supporting translation and distribution of statements and press releases through national media, and drafting executive summaries.

Who can apply

Applicants need university studies in political science, development studies, gender studies, international relations or a related field. They must be enrolled in a postgraduate programme, be in the final year of a bachelor's degree, be taking part in an eligible mandatory national service programme, or have graduated recently and be able to start within two years of graduation.

Requirements

Proficient written and spoken English and proficient communication in a Nordic language are required. Another United Nations language is an advantage. Strong analytical and writing skills, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Zoom are expected. Knowledge of social media and media-monitoring methods is useful.

What you get

Interns who do not receive financial support from another source, such as a university, may receive a stipend from UN Women to partially cover basic living costs. Selected candidates must provide proof of health insurance, university enrollment or degree completion, identification and a valid visa where applicable.

How to apply

Applicants submit a completed and signed P.11 form with an English cover letter, filling in every section including education and employment history. The deadline is 28 September 2026 at 11:59 PM. Only successful candidates are contacted.
