Software Engineer Intern (2027)
Overview
Cloudflare, which runs one of the world's largest networks and protects and accelerates Internet applications, is offering Software Engineer Internships for 2027 in Lisbon. Two terms are available: winter and spring from January to May 2027, and summer from May to September 2027. The network spans more than 330 cities in over 125 countries, and code pushed by engineers affects millions of Internet properties.
Interns work alongside experienced engineers on software that handles the traffic flowing through the network and on the interface and control plane, using technologies including TypeScript, JavaScript, Go, Rust, C, C++ and Python. The internship is full-time at 40 hours per week with in-person expectations, three to five days a week in the Lisbon office, and remote or part-time arrangements are not considered. Hiring is rolling until roles are filled.
What you will do
Interns ship and deliver projects over 12 to 14 weeks with autonomy and support, work with different teams and have a mentor who helps with career goals. They build a network through socials, networking programmes, employee resource groups and activity groups, present their project to the whole company at the end, learn from executives including the co-founders, join professional development workshops and can write for the company blog and appear in video sessions.
Who can apply
Applicants should be pursuing a degree or programme in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics or a relevant field, show critical thinking and a drive to learn new technologies, and be curious, empathetic and able to get things done. They must commit to full-time work for at least 12 weeks and should not be enrolled in classes that conflict with this. Passion for software development shown through personal projects, open-source contributions or use of the company's developer platform is a bonus.
What you get
For hires based in Portugal the monthly salary is 2,450 euros.
How to apply
Candidates who reach the offer stage may be asked to attend an in-person interview at one of the company's offices or hubs.
