Overview

The FedEx Data Internship is a ten-week summer programme based in Memphis, Tennessee, focused on data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and revenue management. Interns gain practical experience by applying analytical techniques to business performance, pricing decisions, and operational efficiency within the logistics and transportation sector. Participants may contribute to tasks involving predictive models, pricing recommendation engines, automated optimization systems, and data pipeline automation.

Who can apply

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a college or university or have graduated within six months of graduation, and they must be pursuing a master's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines. Candidates are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must live within 50 miles of the Memphis campus. Previous work experience is not required. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this internship.

Requirements

Selected interns must be available to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week programme and attend the FedEx campus several times each week under a hybrid work arrangement. While no prior work experience is necessary, applicants should demonstrate relevant academic preparation, analytical capability, and problem-solving skills. Beneficial technical proficiencies include Python, SQL, PySpark, Spark, cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform, Google Cloud tools like BigQuery, predictive modelling, and machine learning techniques, alongside familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
