Engineering Fellowship

Overview

Augustus offers an engineering fellowship based in Berlin, providing participants the opportunity to work on special projects across engineering, product, and other areas of the company. Fellows take ownership of projects from start to finish, which may involve building background coding agents, creating frontend component libraries, or solving operational problems. The program duration is 3 to 6 months, designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.

Who can apply

Applicants must be available for a period of 3 to 6 months and be based in Berlin or willing to relocate for this in-person fellowship. Candidates need to demonstrate the ability to build working software through personal projects, open-source contributions, previous work, or other portfolio examples. The ideal candidate exhibits a steep trajectory, drive, curiosity, ownership, and low ego, with a strong willingness to learn quickly and finish tasks.

What you get

Participants receive a salary of €3,000 per month. Additional offerings include relocation support, visa support, the latest Apple gear consisting of a MacBook and AirPods, lunch benefits, gym benefits, an office located in the heart of the city, four on-sites or off-sites per year, and an annual development budget. Employees are also shareholders in the company.

Requirements

Participants must be able to explain their technical decisions, ask for help when necessary, and follow through on their projects until they are successfully implemented and adopted. The role requires comfort with moving between unfamiliar tools, systems, and domains, as well as handling less exciting aspects of development such as testing, documentation, rollout, and iteration.
