Senior Backend Engineer, VGo Carrier Technology

Overview

Vinteden is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for the Vinted Go Carrier technology domain, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In this role, you will build and maintain backend systems that handle parcel movement across Vinted Go's logistics network, connecting hubs, warehouses, and transport operations. You will join the Pacman team, which focuses on mid-mile logistics and warehouse operations automation. The position operates under a hybrid work model with two recommended office days per week, and visa sponsorship may be offered for suitable candidates.

Requirements

Applicants must have at least five years of backend engineering experience with a history of building systems and managing work from design to production. Candidates need solid experience with Ruby or the motivation to quickly learn the backend stack, which includes Ruby, Vitess, Kafka, Jenkins, Elastic, and observability tools. A strong grasp of API design, database-backed systems, production service operation, and observability is required. Candidates must work independently on complex issues, possess pragmatic problem-solving skills, and be comfortable navigating ambiguity. Excellent written and spoken English proficiency is mandatory, and prior experience with logistics, warehouse management, modularizing large monoliths, or integrating software with physical devices is considered an advantage.
