Duolingo Internship 2027: Paid Software Engineering Opportunity

Overview

Duolingo is offering a Software Engineer, Thrive Intern position for Summer 2027 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The paid internship runs 10 weeks, from June 14 to August 20, 2027, and pays $47 to $49 per hour. Interns work in a small group on a significant software engineering project, supported by engineering talks, technical training, guest speakers and career-building workshops. Each intern is coached by a Duolingo Software Engineer.

Who can apply

The internship is for undergraduate students pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field who will graduate between December 2028 and August 2029. Applicants must have completed at least two college-level computer science courses and have programming experience in at least one of Java, Python, Kotlin or Swift. They should be interested in Duolingo's mission of making education universally available.

A GPA of 3.5 or higher is described as exceptional, and so is having a Duolingo streak.
