Accounting Apprentice

Back Market offers an Accounting Apprentice position within its Finance team, reporting directly to the Head of Accounting. The role takes place in a fast-paced, international environment aimed at supporting financial integrity for a global marketplace of refurbished devices. The work is structured around day-to-day accounting operations and continuous process improvement.

Who can apply

Applicants must already be enrolled in a work-study program in a French school, specifically holding a contrat d'alternance or contrat d'apprentissage. Candidates should possess solid accounting knowledge, a hands-on and highly organized approach, strong analytical abilities, and proactive initiative. Good communication skills are necessary for teamwork. Fluency in English and at least a B2 level in French are required.

The position operates in a hybrid format, which includes two remote days per week, one remote work week per quarter, and three flexible days. Requirements

The apprentice will own accounts payable end-to-end by managing provider invoices matched with purchase orders, handling supplier requests, and performing conformity checks with analytical imputation. Responsibilities include analyzing outstanding purchase orders to keep open orders in check and contributing to monthly closings through accruals, prepaid expenses, and deferred expense calculations and postings. The role also involves managing auxiliary accounts by analyzing and reconciling supplier accounts, championing the expense management tool for organizational updates and transaction accounting, and driving continuous improvement to enhance accounting operations.

The apprenticeship has a starting date of October 2026. The duration is ideally for 24 months, though a 12-month duration can be discussed.
