Flight Control Intern

Overview

Auterion invites applications for a Flight Control Intern position within the Guidance, Navigation and Control team in Zurich, Switzerland. The intern will work on autonomous aerial vehicles by contributing to the development, integration, and validation of flight control and autonomy features. This role offers practical experience with Auterion's technology stack, real-world testing, and product validation through collaboration with customers, engineers, and hardware specialists in a startup setting.

Responsibilities for this position include integrating autonomous aerial vehicles, developing features, and performing maintenance. The intern will design and implement algorithms focused on control, estimation, system state monitoring, and management. Further duties involve testing in both simulation and live flights, evaluating system performance, iterating rapidly, and documenting procedures and results.

Who can apply

Candidates must hold CH or EU citizenship to be eligible for this position. Applicants are required to be final-year Master's students or graduates in robotics, electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field.

Essential qualifications include software development experience, with a preference for C++. Applicants must have knowledge of Guidance, Navigation and Control topics such as control, state estimation, and system dynamics applied to real robotic systems, along with practical experience involving robotic electronics and hardware. Additional requirements include comfort working with Linux and Git, as well as strong communication and organizational abilities. Familiarity with the PX4 ecosystem, aerial robotics, ROS2, DDS, or Docker serves as a bonus.
