Overview
The Yves Rocher Foundation Terre de Femmes International Award 2027 supports women worldwide who lead practical environmental initiatives centering on trees in urban life. The 2027 edition focuses on the theme Trees in the City, recognizing the role of urban trees in addressing climate change, protecting biodiversity, and improving community well-being. Two winning projects will be selected internationally by the host organization, the Yves Rocher Foundation.
Who can apply
Applications are open to women aged 18 or older of all nationalities, who can apply individually or as a collective. Eligible applicants must be committed to nature conservation, particularly involving trees, and must lead a concrete project implemented in a country of their choice. The initiative must be carried out through an established non-profit organization, such as an association, non-governmental organization, or foundation, that has been established for at least one year.
What you get
Two winning projects selected worldwide will each receive a €10,000 grant. In addition to financial support, successful applicants join a community of women committed to environmental protection and nature conservation, gaining increased visibility, partnership opportunities, and expanded support for their work. The funding can support activities like tree planting, native-species nurseries, community engagement, environmental education, or the restoration and maintenance of urban green spaces depending on the approved project scope.
Requirements
Eligible initiatives must focus on practical activities that protect, restore, or expand urban trees and green spaces in cities and surrounding peri-urban areas. Qualifying activities include urban environmental education, urban agroforestry, heritage tree conservation, urban greening, tree nurseries, urban reforestation, and green-space restoration. Projects must demonstrate a clear environmental purpose, practical activities enhancing urban trees, measurable objectives, a realistic implementation plan, community participation, and ecological value.
How to apply
Interested applicants must submit their applications through the official Wiin application platform. Applicants should prepare a clear description of the project, its objectives, planned activities, expected environmental impact, and the communities served, alongside required organizational and supporting documentation.
