The IndiaAI Fellowship 2026–2027 is a funding initiative designed to support research and innovation in artificial intelligence. Backed by IndiaAI, the programme offers financial assistance to eligible students to help them advance their work in machine learning, intelligent systems, and related technology areas, thereby contributing to the country's research and technology ecosystem.

What you get

Selected participants receive financial support tailored to their academic level. Undergraduate and integrated degree students can receive up to ₹1 lakh, while postgraduate students are eligible for up to ₹2 lakh. In addition, an extra ₹1 lakh is available to support eligible individuals in presenting their research at international conferences.

Requirements

Applicants must be enrolled in specific academic programmes and at particular stages of their studies in India. Eligible individuals include those in three-year undergraduate programmes who are at the beginning of their fifth semester, and four-year undergraduate students starting their seventh semester. Students in five-year integrated degree programmes must be at the beginning of their ninth semester, while postgraduate applicants must be in their first, second, or third semester.
