PhD Studentship: Development of Lossy Mode Resonance Optical Fibre Sensors for Energy Applications
Overview
This PhD studentship focuses on the development of Lossy Mode Resonance optical fibre sensors for energy applications. The research examines how alterations in fibre geometry, thin-film composition, and fabrication techniques affect sensor performance within energy environments, alongside the miniaturisation of sensor designs for integration into compact energy-monitoring systems. The project involves joining an international team at the University of East Anglia and the Institute of Carbochemistry in Spain, with an opportunity to undertake a research stay at the Spanish institution.
