Phd Studentship: AI-Enhanced Flexible Antenna Systems for Resilient Next-Generation Wireless Networks
Overview
The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Manchester is offering a fully funded 3.5-year PhD project on AI-enhanced flexible antenna systems for resilient next-generation wireless networks. By exploiting flexible antenna technologies, the project will investigate AI-driven approaches to channel estimation, beamforming and real-time network optimisation. The goal is adaptive 6G systems with better reliability, energy efficiency, coverage and resilience in complex and dynamic environments.
Who can apply
Students who are eligible to pay tuition fees at the Home rate are eligible to apply. Applicants should have, or expect to achieve, at least a 2.1 honours degree or a master's, or an international equivalent, in a relevant science or engineering discipline.
What you get
The successful candidate receives an annual tax-free stipend set at the UKRI rate, which is 21,805 pounds for 2026/27 and is expected to increase each year, and tuition fees are paid.
How to apply
Applicants are strongly advised to contact the main supervisor, Dr Zahra Mobini, before applying, giving their current level of study, academic background and relevant experience, plus a paragraph on their motivation for the project. Early application is recommended because the advert may be removed before the deadline.
