Through its Special Research Fund (BOF), Ghent University offers PhD 'sandwich' scholarships to promising PhD candidates from developing countries, allowing them to complete half of their doctoral research at Ghent University ('North') and the other half at a university in a developing country ('South'). Ghent University funds only the 24-month portion of the research carried out in Ghent, as part of its 2024 call.
