Dutch Netherlands Government Scholarships 2027 (Funded)
Overview
The Holland Scholarship 2027 is a partial scholarship for international students from outside the European Economic Area who want to study a Bachelor's or Master's degree in the Netherlands. It is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science together with participating Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.
Participating research universities include Leiden University, Utrecht University, the University of Groningen, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Maastricht University, VU Amsterdam, Radboud University, Tilburg University, Delft University of Technology, Eindhoven University of Technology, the University of Twente, Wageningen University, Theological University Apeldoorn and Theological University Kampen. Many universities of applied sciences take part too, including Fontys, Saxion, The Hague University of Applied Sciences and Hotelschool The Hague, along with several art academies.
Who can apply
Applicants must be non-EEA nationals and must not hold a degree from a Dutch educational institution, since the scholarship supports students who have not previously studied in the Netherlands.
The scholarship is available across a broad set of fields: agriculture and environment, economics, commerce, management and accounting, engineering, health care and social services, hospitality, tourism, leisure, transport and logistics, humanities, social sciences, communication and arts, law and public administration, mathematics, natural sciences and computer science, teacher training, and general programmes.
What you get
The award is €5,000, paid during the first year of study at the Dutch institution where the student is enrolled. It is not a full-tuition scholarship and covers the first year only, so remaining tuition, living expenses and visa fees need to be planned for separately. The Holland Scholarship can be combined with other university grants, faculty scholarships and external funding.
