ARES Scholarships 2027-28 in Belgium (Fully Funded )
Overview
The ARES International Training Scholarships 2027-28 are offered by the Academy of Research and Higher Education (ARES), the federation of higher education institutions of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in Belgium. They fund professionals to take a specialised bachelor's degree, a specialised master's degree of up to 12 months, or a continuing training course of up to six months. Applicants can select only one training programme.
The programmes include a specialised bachelor's in Digital Integrated Supply Chain and specialised master's degrees in human rights, integrated management of health risks, international and development economics, microfinance, public health sciences, food chain safety management, preventive conservation and collection management, and disaster risk management in the Anthropocene. A certificate in cybersecurity operations and risk governance is also offered.
Who can apply
Applicants must be permanent residents and workers in one of 32 eligible countries, except Palestinian nationals, who are exempt from the residence requirement. The eligible countries are Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, DR Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Haiti, Peru, Cambodia, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines, Vietnam and Palestine.
A graduate degree earned no more than 20 years before the programme starts is needed, extended by one year for each childbirth or adoption. Applicants need at least two years of relevant professional experience in an eligible country after their most recent degree, must meet their chosen programme's admission requirements, and need good command of its language of instruction. Basic French helps with daily life in Belgium.
What you get
The scholarship covers international travel, a subsistence allowance and insurance. For specialised bachelor's and master's programmes it also covers tuition fees and exceptional visa costs. For continuing training it provides indirect mission expenses.
How to apply
Applicants need an active GIRAF account, or must request one. After logging in, they open the Competitive Calls section and select Application - International Training 2027-2028. The form can be saved as a draft and completed over several sessions, but it cannot be changed once submitted.
