Overview
Action Contre la Faim is inviting consultancy applications to support the Global WASH Cluster (GWC) Operational Support through the Field Support Team (FST) project. It seeks one Assessment Specialist and two WASH Cluster Coordinators for the Operational Support Core Team, and is also building a roster of specialists who can be called on for time-bound surge assignments. The Field Support Team is a surge and operational support mechanism for National WASH Coordination Platforms in humanitarian contexts, working under the strategic leadership of the Global WASH Cluster Advocacy and Support Team. It offers in-country and virtual deployments, a helpdesk, remote technical assistance, global services, tools and capacity strengthening.
Who can apply
The call is for experienced humanitarian and WASH professionals with about 5 to 9 years of experience in areas such as humanitarian response, WASH, cluster coordination, assessments, programme management or information management. Candidates should be comfortable in complex humanitarian settings and in working with several organisations, and experience in humanitarian coordination structures and the role of clusters is relevant.
What you get
The Assessment Specialist contributes to collecting and analysing information on WASH needs, gaps, risks and priorities, helping partners make evidence-based decisions and target their work, and may support assessment tools and approaches. WASH Cluster Coordinators bring together humanitarian organisations working in water, sanitation and hygiene, supporting joint planning, information sharing, needs analysis, response monitoring and identification of operational gaps. Assignments may be in-country or virtual depending on operational need, and roster members may be considered for later surge assignments in different contexts.
