War Child International Seeks Web Developer to Build Digital Referral System MVP for Syria Joint Response Consortium – Apply by 15 August 2026
Overview
War Child International is seeking a web or software developer on a consultancy basis to design and deliver a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for a Digital Referral System that supports the Syria Joint Response (SJR) consortium. The consortium brings together humanitarian organisations working to improve aid delivery in Syria, and the system is meant to improve coordination, referral management and information sharing among partners operating in Northwest and Northeast Syria. The MVP will form the base for later expansion beyond the current consortium.
The platform should be a secure, user-friendly web tool that lets participating organisations manage and track referrals, handle data and generate reports, while reducing administrative barriers and improving accountability. Its architecture should be flexible enough to allow future upgrades. The consultant will analyse user requirements and turn them into technical solutions, build the referral management system with secure access, data management and reporting features, ensure usability, reliability and security, test the system and fix problems, and provide documentation and recommendations for further development, working with stakeholders to meet the needs of humanitarian staff in difficult environments.
Requirements
The assignment falls under information and communications technology and calls for between 5 and 9 years of relevant professional experience. Applicants need strong web application development and software engineering skills, knowledge of designing secure platforms and data management systems, and experience building minimum viable products or similar solutions. Work with humanitarian, nonprofit or development organisations is an advantage, as is experience with referral systems, case management platforms or humanitarian information management tools. Good problem-solving and communication skills are expected.
