Overview
The United Nations Office for Project Services is hiring a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Officer to provide technical and advisory support for the Resilient Infrastructure Implementation and Skill Exchange Facility. The regional facility assists governments in the Eastern Caribbean, including Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, in strengthening their capacity to implement climate-resilient infrastructure. This is a mid-level, home-based opportunity offered under an ICA LICA Specialist Retainer contract at the LICA 9 level, with an initial duration of 12 months. Extensions depend on budget availability, project requirements, and satisfactory performance, and official travel may be required during the assignment.
Who can apply

Candidates holding a Master's degree or equivalent in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Sociology, Development Studies, International Development, Human Rights, Public Policy, Social Work, Psychology, or another relevant field must possess a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field require at least four years of relevant experience. This experience must include work in gender equality, gender mainstreaming, social inclusion, diversity and inclusion, or related areas, alongside experience in contributing to the design, implementation, monitoring, or reporting of development programs or projects. Applicants must be fluent in English, while intermediate Spanish is considered desirable. Additional advantages include experience conducting gender and social inclusion analyses, integrating GESI considerations into infrastructure or climate resilience, knowledge of Canada's gender equality framework, and prior work in the Caribbean or Small Island Developing States.
What you get
