Overview

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is hiring an Organization Design Specialist for a home-based position at mid-level (ICS-10) on an ICA, IICA Regular contract. The specialist works in the People and Culture Group, supporting enterprise transformation, workforce planning and organisational effectiveness, and collaborating with organisational leaders, HR teams, finance colleagues and global stakeholders to produce evidence-based recommendations.

What the role involves

The specialist supports organisation design reviews and transformation, analyses structures, operating models, governance and workforce data, finds capability gaps, runs stakeholder consultations, workshops and interviews, and builds models, presentations and decision materials, while improving design tools and methods. In workforce planning, the role supports UNOPS frameworks, analyses trends, skills needs and capacity, helps shape future workforce strategies, works on modelling and forecasting and supports AI and HR analytics tools. The role also reviews and develops job descriptions and terms of reference, supports job classification and reclassification using international job evaluation standards, manages several design projects, supports change management and delivers on time.

Requirements

Applicants need either a bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational psychology, behavioural science, business administration, management or a related field with 7 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree in a related field with 5 years. Training in recognised job evaluation methodologies such as the Hay Guide Chart and Profile Method, Mercer IPE or ICSC Master Standards is required. Experience is expected in organisational diagnostics and design, workforce planning and restructuring, job analysis and evaluation, strategic HR planning, quantitative and qualitative workforce analysis, AI-enabled HR tools and working in multicultural, geographically distributed organisations. Humanitarian, development or UN experience is an advantage. Fluent English is required, and French and Spanish are desirable.
