Overview
Thousand Currents supports grassroots movements led by communities most affected by injustice, providing flexible funding, partnerships and resources to groups working on food systems, energy systems, economies and the protection of the global commons across Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Asia and the Pacific. It is hiring a Manager, Executive Support for its Philanthropic Partnerships and Influence (PPI) Team. The role is full time, exempt and fully remote, open to people based in the United States, Africa, Asia and the Pacific, or Latin America and the Caribbean who can keep at least five hours of overlap with GMT-5.
The manager provides high-level administrative, strategic and operational support to the Vice President of Philanthropic Partnerships and Influence. Duties include managing the Vice President's calendar and priorities, drafting executive communications, handling the inbox, preparing briefing materials, keeping Salesforce records, coordinating meetings and follow-up, tracking projects and deadlines, managing consultant contracts and payments, supporting special projects, improving administrative processes, handling confidential information, and planning conference and meeting calendars, travel logistics, visas and expense reports. Travel is up to 10 percent.
Requirements
Thousand Currents seeks strong alignment with social and environmental justice values, extensive experience supporting senior executives, and preferably experience supporting leaders in fundraising or partnerships. Candidates should handle changing priorities, show excellent organisation, communication and attention to detail, work independently in a remote global team, keep confidences and use digital tools such as Google Suite, Asana and Slack, with Salesforce an advantage. The organisation does not offer visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.
What you get
The salary is USD 97,000 per year.
