Overview

The Funding Studio is seeking a Nonprofit Operations Specialist for a part-time, remote contract role supporting nonprofit organisations with operations, administration, compliance and project work. The specialist steps into active projects, works out what needs to be done and takes ownership from start to completion with limited supervision. Duties include developing or improving internal processes, organising files, records, templates and documentation, supporting compliance, reporting and recordkeeping, coordinating timelines and following up on tasks, researching issues and preparing clear recommendations, learning new software quickly, and giving regular updates on progress, deadlines and concerns. The person is an independent contractor and receives no employee benefits.

What you get

Pay is 30 dollars per hour, with hours assigned according to current projects and organisational needs. Work can be done from anywhere in the United States, and the start date is October 5, 2026.

Who can apply

The role is for mid-level candidates with professional experience working for or directly supporting nonprofits, with a four-year degree required. Applicants should understand nonprofit operations, administrative systems and organisational requirements, and be able to move existing projects forward without constant supervision.

Requirements

Strong organisation, written communication, project management, attention to detail and reliable follow-through are needed, along with sound judgement, comfort across several technology platforms, confidentiality and professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

How to apply

Applicants submit a current resume, a brief introduction describing their nonprofit operations experience, examples of nonprofit projects or responsibilities they managed independently, and three professional references who can speak to their nonprofit work. Candidates without direct nonprofit experience or the required references will not be considered. Applications go through the job listing.

Key dates

The deadline is September 30, 2026.
