Overview

Swift Sports Organisation, a grassroots, community-based organisation in Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District, Uganda, is seeking a Freelancer International Fundraiser. The contract is fully remote and open to applicants anywhere in the world. It runs from 5 August to 5 October 2026, and compensation is between USD 100 and 200 per month, depending on mutual agreement. The organisation started in 2018 with evening netball and fitness sessions, grew into several sports clubs and community initiatives, rebuilt after the COVID-19 pandemic and registered as a community-based organisation in 2022. It uses sport to address poverty and create opportunities for children, girls and single mothers.

The fundraiser is meant to help reach a short-term goal of $600 and strengthen the organisation's capacity to secure resources. Focus areas are fundraising and resource mobilisation, building international partnerships and networks, supporting project development and implementation, promoting sustainable community development, strategic communication and representing the organisation, financial planning and accountability and strengthening systems for long-term impact. The funds support educational help for children, skills development for single mothers, basic education classes, child nutrition, sports talent identification and development and mentorship and community wellbeing. Some programmes already run on a small scale, while others need funding and partnerships.

Who can apply

Applicants should communicate well in English, and knowledge of other international languages is an advantage. They are asked to submit academic documents and should be over 30 years of age. Relevant experience includes nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, donor engagement, international development, partnership building, community development and sports-for-development work.

How to apply

Applicants send their application with academic documents before the deadline. The organisation notes that applicants who receive no feedback within 24 hours should assume they were not selected.

Key dates

Applications close on 4 August 2026.
