Overview

Sunsar Maya Inc is seeking a Development Coordinator to support its fundraising and donor engagement. The role is a fully remote, part-time contract open to candidates anywhere in the world, at about 20 hours per week and USD $28 to $30 per hour. Sunsar Maya is a nonprofit helping vulnerable women and children in Nepal build pathways out of poverty through education, mental health and community-based programs. It runs three centers serving more than 500 people every day, and is a small, women-led team.

What the role involves

The coordinator works with the Executive Director and Development Director to expand the individual donor base and build a stronger network of prospects, partners and supporters. Pipeline work includes researching prospective individual donors, community connectors and partners, reaching out to civic groups, professional associations and Rotary clubs, tracking engagement, and supporting stewardship of mid-level donors. The role also covers community partnerships and events such as co-branded fundraisers and percentage-of-proceeds campaigns, reviving peer-to-peer fundraising including birthday campaigns, community fundraising pages and giving circles, and development operations such as drafting emails and thank-you notes, supporting donor calls, keeping CRM records and reporting on pipeline progress.

Requirements

Applicants need a four-year degree and, ideally, 3 to 5 or more years of nonprofit development experience in donor outreach, prospect research or campaign implementation. Skills include independent working, strong writing, confidence reaching new contacts, organisation, attention to detail, familiarity with donor CRM systems or willingness to learn, comfort with fundraising data, and a commitment to ethical, relationship-centered fundraising and to the mission. Experience at a small or growing nonprofit, building systems from scratch, or in international development, women's empowerment or education is an advantage. Fluent English is required.

Work schedule

Hours are flexible, but the coordinator must be available for two designated weekly working hours during the morning Pacific Time. The organization mostly communicates asynchronously.

How to apply

Candidates submit a resume through the organization's application form.
