Research Fellow in Analog Computing for Advanced Communication Systems
Overview
The Institute for Communication Systems at the University of Surrey is hiring a full-time, fixed-term Research Fellow to work on analog computing for advanced communication systems. The position is based on site in the United Kingdom within the Wireless Systems Lab group, offering collaboration opportunities with international academic partners and industrial collaborators.
Requirements
Applicants need strong knowledge and research experience in analog circuit design focused on low-power signal processing, computing, or communication applications. Candidates must have experience in circuit-level modelling and simulation to evaluate power consumption and circuit non-idealities, alongside familiarity with algorithm-hardware co-design for mapping operations onto practical hardware under various constraints. The role requires strong analytical, programming, and modeling skills using Python and MATLAB, plus the ability to communicate findings in writing and orally. Desirable qualifications include a track record of peer-reviewed publications, knowledge of signal processing and communication systems, and experience with in-memory computing architectures such as ReRAM or memristive devices.
