Research Assistant / Research Officer in Biodegradable Pheromone Formulation

Overview

Swansea University is offering a position as a Research Assistant or Research Officer within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The role is part of PHEROCROP, which is a collaborative research and development project focused on creating a sprayable pheromone delivery system for integrated pest management in commercial horticulture. The work concentrates on formulation science and analytical testing, including biodegradable polymer selection, microencapsulation, release behaviour, and the preparation of larger experimental batches.

The position provides a salary ranging from £34,610 to £46,049 per annum. The employment is offered on a full-time, fixed-term contract basis.

Requirements

Applicants are required to have a level of Welsh language skills classified as Level 1, which entails knowing very basic everyday words and phrases and being able to pronounce Welsh words and answer the phone in Welsh. This level can be reached by completing a one-hour course.
