Overview
Relief Applications, a humanitarian technology company headquartered in Toulouse, France, is hiring a Proposal Writer to support business development on international tenders, requests for proposals and expressions of interest. The company builds digital tools and services for NGOs, UN agencies and other mission-driven organisations, including software and platforms, information management, data and MEAL systems, ERP implementation and data protection advisory services.
The job is fully remote and open worldwide. It is part time at 2.5 days per week on a fixed-term contract, and reports to the Chief Commercial Officer. Salary is not specified.
What you will do
The writer analyses terms of reference, tender documents and procurement requirements to understand client needs, evaluation criteria and compliance obligations. Duties include drafting technical proposals covering context analysis, methodology, work plans, deliverables, team structures and quality assurance, working with technical, information management and project management experts, and coordinating each proposal from kick-off to final review. The role also contributes to financial proposals, prepares forms and annexes, manages submissions through procurement portals or email, answers clarification requests and keeps records of proposals, results and feedback.
Requirements
Applicants need at least two years of experience in proposal writing or bid management, with UN, European Union, international NGO or foundation tenders preferred, plus experience in humanitarian work, international development or technology consulting. A university degree in international development, communications, business administration, information management, information technology or a related field is required, and a Master's is an advantage. Excellent writing skills, full professional English and understanding of consultancy services in software, information management, data, MEAL or data protection are expected. Working French or Spanish is highly desirable, as are knowledge of UN, EU and NGO procurement rules, familiarity with platforms such as UNGM, UNDP Quantum or EU Funding and Tenders, spreadsheet-based budgeting skills, and experience with Google Workspace and AI assistants.
