Refugee and Displaced Youth Aged 18–35: Apply to Join the DREEM Youth Expert Pool in 5 African Countries
Overview
The DREEM Youth RDP Inclusion Advisors and Youth Expert Pool initiative invites young individuals affected by displacement to help shape more inclusive programmes for refugees and displaced communities. Led by World University Service of Canada in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, the initiative seeks to integrate the voices and lived experiences of displaced youth into discussions and initiatives concerning inclusion. Selected participants may serve as advisors to help organisations understand the barriers facing displaced communities and develop approaches that respond to the realities of young people.
Who can apply
Eligible applicants must be between 18 and 35 years of age and currently based in Ethiopia, Rwanda, Nigeria, Kenya or Senegal. Candidates must have a background as refugees or displaced persons, which includes asylum seekers and internally displaced persons. Participants should have a willingness to contribute their lived experience and perspectives to efforts promoting refugee and displaced youth inclusion. Young women and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply, and knowledge of French or Arabic serves as an advantage.
Requirements
Applicants are required to submit a curriculum vitae that clearly communicates relevant experience, background, and activities demonstrating an interest in youth participation, inclusion, displacement-related issues, or community engagement. Candidates must also provide a motivation letter explaining their interest in becoming a DREEM Youth RDP Inclusion Advisor, detailing why they want to contribute, the perspectives or experience they would bring, and their interest in supporting more inclusive approaches for displaced young people.
