REBUILD.US Is Hiring a Remote Fund Director to Lead Climate Disaster Response and Philanthropy at Scale — Apply by September 3, 2026.
Overview
REBUILD.US is seeking a Fund Director to lead its next phase of growth. The role is full-time, executive-level and U.S.-based remote, with a salary of $150,000 to $180,000 depending on experience. REBUILD.US directs private donations to local organisations already embedded in communities hit by climate disasters, aiming to move money quickly after a disaster while supporting longer-term organising and systemic change. It launched in August 2025 and is fiscally sponsored by Assets Under Movement. Its pilot phase reportedly moved $16 million across 21 disasters to 125 local organisations, and it aims to compete for 10% of private philanthropic dollars given during climate disasters.
The Director will combine strategy, fundraising, grantmaking, operations, communications, partnerships and team leadership, working with the founder and the Executive Director of Organizing Resilience. Between disasters the focus is organisational development and planning; when one occurs, the role shifts to rapid-response leadership.
Requirements
Applicants need at least 10 years of professional experience, at least five years in senior leadership, experience launching or scaling organisations or initiatives, experience leading remote teams and managing a multi-million-dollar budget, and strong relationships across philanthropic networks. Experience with climate disaster response or organising is a strong advantage. The role calls for a lean-startup approach and comfort with rapid change.
What you get
Benefits include employer-paid medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, professional development funding, a remote work stipend and domestic travel when required.
How to apply
Applicants submit a resume, a cover letter, an answer on the largest organisational budget they have directly managed, and an account of leading a team or project through a significant growth transition. Applicants are asked not to contact the organisation or board members directly. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with a stated deadline of September 3, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. ET.
