Overview

Airalo is hiring a Procurement Director to build the procurement function and policy from the ground up, driving standardization and savings across major spend categories including Networks, Sales and Marketing, and IT/Software. This senior role reports to the CFO, partners across every spending function in the company, and focuses on designing how Airalo buys while embedding a disciplined purchase-to-pay process into a new ERP.

Who can apply

Applicants must be comfortable communicating in English both in meetings and asynchronously, as it is the main working language day to day. Candidates need ten or more years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or commercial and category management, including building or materially scaling a procurement function in a fast-growth company. Required expertise includes deep indirect spend knowledge across marketing, IT and SaaS, and professional services, alongside essential exposure to network, telecom, or infrastructure spend such as capacity, routing, and wholesale. Preferred experience features working in a high-growth company with exposure to controls and audit-readiness maturity, direct involvement in an ERP or purchase-to-pay implementation, and comfort operating in a globally distributed, multi-currency, and multi-jurisdiction business.

What you get

The position is fully remote with options to work from Spain, the United Kingdom, or the United Arab Emirates. For candidates in Spain and the United Arab Emirates, employment is full-time and permanent via Deel as the employer of record, while the United Kingdom arrangement is a full-time, permanent local contract. Visa sponsorship may be offered for suitable candidates.

Requirements

The role requires a proven track record of running competitive tenders and complex negotiations with measurable and validated savings, alongside hands-on experience designing purchase requisition, purchase order, and purchase-to-pay processes within an enterprise resource planning environment such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft. Candidates must possess a strong command of procurement policy, delegation of authority, supplier risk, and controls, as well as the ability to influence without authority and change buying behavior with evidence among senior leaders across Networks, Marketing, and Technology.
