Post Doc Research Associate (847454)
Overview
The University of Strathclyde in the United Kingdom is hiring a Post Doc Research Associate within the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering. This position involves joining an industrially funded project through the Advanced Forming Research Centre and the UK Research Centre in Non-Destructive Evaluation. The successful candidate will work alongside Dr Theodosia Stratoudaki on developing a laser ultrasound array system designed for real-time, remote, and couplant-free ultrasonic microstructural characterisation of metallic parts using Artificial Intelligence.
What you get
The position offers a salary ranging from £37,694 to £46,049 per annum. The appointment is a full-time, fixed-term contract based on site.
Requirements
Applicants need expertise in computational methods to develop simulated datasets and train Deep Learning models. Candidates must also have experience in designing and implementing experimental optical systems used for data acquisition. The research requires balancing work across microstructural characterisation of metallic components using laser ultrasound data acquisition and ultrasonic array imaging correction of the TotalFocusing Method to account for the microstructure.
