Responsibilities include conducting research and policy analysis, translating findings into policy impact, representing the organization at high-level forums, publishing policy papers and commentaries, organizing events, and supporting fundraising. The fellow also supervises mid-level and junior staff, oversees program planning and budgeting, and collaborates across wider initiatives. The position is hybrid, requiring employees to work from the office at least three days per week in Washington, DC, USA, or London, UK.

Essential qualifications include expertise in current AI policy issues, knowledge of international institutions and forums, experience working with low- and middle-income country governments, multilaterals, or NGOs, an understanding of research ethics and data-protection regulations, and leadership and staff-management experience. For the United States position, candidates must be able to live and work in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia, with visa sponsorship subject to successful securing of the required authorization. Candidates for the London location must have the right to live and work in the United Kingdom, and any sponsorship depends on obtaining necessary work authorization.
