Overview

On Think Tanks (OTT), a global organisation that supports think tanks, evidence-informed policymaking and knowledge ecosystems, is looking for a part-time Digital Communications Officer for its fully remote team. OTT works through research, consulting, capacity strengthening, publications and communities of practice. The officer keeps its digital platforms running smoothly for members, readers and partners, and reports to the Communications Manager, working alongside the Content Manager.

What you get

The pay is USD 950 per month. The contract is fixed-term and part-time, at about 50% of full-time hours, which averages four hours per day over 253 working days a year. Hours are flexible but need regular overlap with Central European Time, either mornings or afternoons. The position is remote and open globally, and candidates from Africa, Asia and Latin America are strongly encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Applicants need at least three years of experience in digital communications, community management or a similar role. Essential skills include managing organisational social media, website administration with WordPress or another content management system, Mailchimp or similar email marketing, knowledge of Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite or comparable tools, a practical grasp of SEO, strong organisation and time management, strong written and spoken English, and the ability to work independently in a remote international team. Experience with Patreon, paid digital advertising, web accessibility, nonprofit communications, think tanks or international development is an advantage, as are French or Spanish skills.

The duties include managing accounts on LinkedIn, X and Instagram, moderating online communities, maintaining the website through uploads, page updates, navigation and content audits, and working with external web developers on technical issues. The officer also audits the user journey across the website, newsletters, social media and Patreon, manages Mailchimp subscriber lists, publishes member content and tiers on Patreon, tracks website, email and social metrics, supports SEO and paid campaigns, and prepares performance reports.

Key dates

The application deadline is 31 August 2026 at 23:59 EST.
